About Us
We started from an experience and made it our mission so that no one would have to live it again.

In 2022, after an experience Hugue had in a local hospital in Cameroon and shared with Arthur, both became obsessed with the idea of making quality medicines accessible to all in Cameroon and Africa in general. This resulted in the creation of KapFou that same year. After exploring the various technical solutions on their own, Sarah joined the team as the lead developer with the personal intention to make KapFou a success so that it might help Africa as a continent.

KapFou comes from “Kap” meaning money & “Fou” meaning medicine in Medumba (Bagangte), an African language from Cameroon.

KapFou is a platform for medical remittances. We capitalise on the African diaspora to finance the local purchase of medicines which are often too expensive compared to local salaries.

While there are many ways to send money to Africa, our platform provides trust and security to users. Trust because the money sent is used effectively for the purpose for which it was sent and security because the sick person will buy quality medicines through our network of pharmacies, thus avoiding the dangerous street medicines that kill people.

How we align with the future

KapFou's alignment with the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals

SDG 1 - No Poverty
Out of pocket medical expenditures are one of the main reasons why so many Africans go back to poverty. KapFou helps fight this poverty trap by facilitating financing
SDG 3 - Good health and well-being
By contributing to the purchase of quality medicines in Africa, our App contributes to the achievement of SDG 3 in an effective and sustainable way.
SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth
KapFou is a registered Cameroonian company. Our activities create a synergy between Cameroon and Europe.
SDG 12 - Responsible consumption and production
A significant number of people in Africa will avoid the use of street medicines that are of poorer quality.
SDG 9 - Industry, innovation and infrastructure
We contribute to this SDG through our innovative platform that increases the trust and security for our users.
SDG 10 - Reduce inequality
Thanks to our app, more people that are vulnerable to poverty in sub-Saharan Africa, including women and children, will have access to medicines.
